Apple has decided to go for an out-of-court settlement in an e-book price-fixing case.
The iPhone maker reached an out-of-court settlement in a case in which it was being sued by consumers, who overpaid for e-books due to price-fixing between the tech giant and publishers, the BBC reports.
According to a court document filed in New York, the company has reached a "binding agreement" with consumers.
While the company is yet to reveal the amount of compensation, the litigants were thought to have been seeking up to 840million dollars (495m pounds), the report said.
