Veteran singer Aretha Franklin, who recently turned 72, celebrated her birthday with a star-studded party in New York City.
The 'I Say a Little Prayer For You' hit maker started her birthday celebrations by seeing Denzel Washington's Broadway play and then went to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Contactmusic reported.
The 71-year-old star was later joined by Washington, rapper Andre 3000, producer Babyface, who she is collaborating with for her new album, and record executive Clive Davis at the private bash.
