Argentina national football team coach Gerardo Martino has claimed that he does not aspire to improve the game of their star skipper Lionel Messi.
Martino said that his mission as a national team coach was to put together a team in which the world-famous forward Messi would feel comfortable.
Martino claimed that he was never afraid Messi would decide to ditch the team following criticisms of his performance, China Daily reported.
Martino stated that he had absolutely nothing to contribute to Messi, neither to the forward nor to his club Barcelona. He added that the only thing he wishes for is for the Argentine to be happy about coming to play with the national team, and be happy to play on a team that represents him.
Martino claimed that he doesn't aspire to make the world's best player better, because that would be hard, but added that he does have to make sure he doesn't make Messi worse.
