Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday claimed that the army areas are 'cool' since Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government took charge at the Centre.

"As far as the army is concerned, the LoC is much more in peace mode," said Parrikar.

He also claimed that the incidents of ceasefire violations have gone down in the last one year.

"The number of incidents has very much reduced except yesterday's incident where the army jawans were fired near the border. Otherwise, the army areas are very cool since the Modi Government came," he said.

Parrikar, however, said that some 'action' has taken place along the International Border.

According to reports, there has been a decline of 32 percent in ceasefire violations and a decrease of 28 percent in infiltrations since the BJP-led NDA Government took charge at the Centre in May last year.
