Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat visited forward locations of Samba and Ratnuchak in Jammu region amidst heightened tension along the LoC.
The Army Chief reviewed the operational deployment and preparedness of the formations. He was briefed about the situation and preparedness by Lt Gen. JS Nain, General Officer Commanding, Rising Star Corps.
The Army Chief also interacted with troops in forward posts and praised their high state of moral and preparedness.
General Rawat also expressed complete confidence in the capabilities of his men to "thwart any nefarious design of enemies of our country and handle any situation."
The Army Chief had visited forward locations of White Knight Corps on Saturday along with Corps Commander and Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh.
Tensions on the LoC remain high as cross-border firing saw a spurt in the last few weeks.
Reportedly, Indian Army retaliated to Pakistan's unprovoked ceasefire violations by heavy artillery firing and even used anti-tank missiles to pound Pakistani Army positions across the LoC.
