Army's 'Mission Sahayata': 80 medical teams deployed

Shifting the focus from rescue to 'relief operations', Indian Army's 'Mission Sahayata' has increased its deployment of medical teams from 65 to 80 in Jammu and Kashmir. Additional recourses have also being inducted including Engineer Task Forces, a field hospital, and 'Ready to eat meals', packed milk, blankets, potable water and baby food (07 tons).

Approximately 200 boats have been mobilized while more are underway. It has deployed 215 columns concentrating their efforts to cover areas of Rajbagh, Shivpura, Indira Nagar, Bemina and Tankpura.\

In Srinagar itself, 4000 persons were evacuated, which included Ambassador of Nepal along with a 17 member delegation and 28 member Pakistani golf team (part of SAARC team).

 

Army has also pressed 13 Chetak and 05 Advance Light Helicopters into service. 100 to 120 sorties are also being flown daily towards the relief effort.
