Arnold Schwarzenegger was named the honorary ambassador for tourism for Madrid, Spain recently.
The 67-year-old action hero, who filmed 'Conan the Barbarian' in and around Spain in the 1980,' was given inaugural ambassador honor by Madrid authorities in the hopes that he would publicize the area to other filmmakers for their film shoots, Contactmusic reported.
The country has been struggling through an economic recession since 2012, and the Spanish officials had asked him to join the campaign to boost tourism.
Schwarzenegger would also be awarded at the Spanish version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the city of Almeria, however it is not confirmed if he would attend the ceremony.
