Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has criticised FIFA for scheduling the international summer without considering the health of the players.

Arsenal's season ends with the FA Cup final on Saturday, while Columbia keeper David Ospina and Chile forward Alexis Sanchez depart for the Copa America, which begins on June 11.

He said it was disappointing to see FIFA only talking about the health of the players, but their actions and scheduling of events was not responsible, the BBC has reported.

Wenger added that Copa America was too much, especially after the world cup. The tournament would run till the fourth of July, after which, the 2015-16 Premier League season will start from August 8.

A concerned Arsenal boss said that it was a 'wrong decision', as his players would not have enough time to recuperate pre-season.
