Managers of Arsenal and Manchester City-Arsene Wenger and Manuel Pellegrini - are reported to be considering to rest their star players for the FA Cup encounters this weekend to keep the latter fighting fit for Champions League clashes with Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively.
According to The Mirror, Wenger and Pellegrini are all set to ring in squad changes for the weekend matches against Liverpool and Chelsea.
Manchester City is to take on Barcelona in a Champions League encounter on Tuesday, and therefore, Coach Pellegrini is prepared to rest skipper Vincent Kompany, and key players David Silva, Yaya Toure and Alvaro Negredo for Saturday's FA Cup clash with Chelsea at the Etihad.
He has to also consider the fact that Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho are out with injuries.
On the other hand, Wenger, who has been trophy-less since 2005, is reported to be considering six changes from the side that secured a draw against Manchester United on Wednesday.
He is hoping to revive his key men for next Wednesday's Champions League clash with European champions Bayern Munich.
Lukasz Fabianski will likely take over from Wojciech Szczesny in goal, with Lukas Podolski, Nicklas Bendtner, Mathieu Flamini, Nacho Monreal and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining him in the Gunners' starting line-up against Liverpool.
