Arsenal has retained their lead on top of the Premier League table following their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, who is without a manager, at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Arsenal, on the back of their first defeat in 12 games after losing to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday, were not at their best but secured a seventh league win in nine outings this season.

According to the BBC, although Arsenal's Mikel Arteta scored a penalty after Palace's Adlene Guedioura's foul, he was dismissed in the 65th minute for his own foul on Marouane Chamakh.

However, Olivier Giroud secured Arsenal's win when he headed in late on during the 87th minute, despite the visitors dominating possession, the report added.
