Arsenal star goalkeeper Petr Cech, who is yet to be beaten by Lionel Messi in eight games, has admitted that he is keen to extend his fine record against the Barcelona talisman when they will face each other in the Champions League last-16 clash in February.

The Czech Republic international holds an upper hand in his one-on-one battle against Messi, with the pair met on numerous times during the goalkeeper's time with Chelsea.

"It's great, not many people can say they've played eight games or how many minutes against Messi and he hasn't found a way to get past me," Cech was quoted as saying by goal.com.

However, the star goalkeeper has expressed that he wouldn't mind if the four-time Ballon d'Or winner scores and still Arsenal reach the next round.

"But if he scores and we progress to the next round then it's not really important. What's important is for us to make sure that we give ourselves a chance to progress to the next round," he added.

The 33-year-old recently became the Premier League's all-time clean sheet holder during his side's win over Bournemouth.
