Arsenal star Theo Walcott is expecting his first child with wife Melanie Slade, it was announced today, according to reports.
According to the Daily Star, the couple's big news was announced on Twitter by his representatives, revealing their first baby was due early next summer.
The tweet included quotes from the expecting sweethearts, who married in Italy earlier this year, the report said.
It read that both of them were very excited at such happy news just a few months after getting married.
The young pair, who dated for nine years, wed at the Castello di Vincigliata in Tuscany in June, the report added.
Walcott recently returned from an abdominal injury after coming on as a substitute in the 1-1 home draw with Everton last weekend, the report further said.
The 24-year-old was Arsenal's leading scorer last season and an integral part of Roy Hodgson's squad as they battled to secure a place at the 2014 World Cup, the report mentioned.
