Arsenal manager Unai Emery has confirmed that the club would not be making any permanent signings during the transfer window of January.
The statement came amid growing talks of Denis Suarez of Barcelona and Sevilla's Ever Banega joining the club. The manager, however, clarified that they could sign players only on loan.
"We cannot make payments to sign players. We can only loan players. I don't know about his [Suarez] situation. But we can only sign players on loan," goal.com quoted Emery, as saying. "I know the club is working to find players who can help us, with this condition. I know these players and they are very good players. But I cannot sign more," he added.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is all set to join Italian football club Juventus at the end of the current season and Suarez was considered as his replacement in the team. While talking about the same, Emery said that it is Ramsey who will take decisions regarding his future.
While asserting that he would respect Ramsey's decision, Emery said that he is very happy with the way midfielder is performing for the team.
"His future is for him, his family and his agent. But every day in training he is working very well. And I want his focus to be on us, the manager said.
"I respect his decision a lot. I cannot say more about his situation. The most important thing is that Aaron Ramsey is with us. His future I respect a lot because he has a very private decision but he is with us every day, and I repeat that I am very happy with him," he added.
