Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ratnaswer Moran's son, who was abducted by the ULFA militants on August 1, was on Friday released in Nampong, a census town in the state's Changlang district.
The anti-talk faction of ULFA militants had on August 22 released the video footage of a youth abducted from Assam and demanded a ransom of Rs. one crore.
In the video, Kuldip Moran, Ratnaswer Moran's son, was seen appealing to his family, BJP legislator Bolin Chetia and Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to secure his release by paying the outlawed outfit.
Ratneswar is the vice-president of Tinsukia Zila Parishad and a close aide of Sadiya legislator Bolin Chetia.
