Arunachal Pradesh's Choephelling Tibetan refugee settlement camp has given shelter to a large number of refugees form Tibet in Changlang district where the Tibetan refugees are engaged in weaving and handicraft work for their survival.

Located few miles from Miao Town in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh is Choephelling Tibetan Refugee Settlement Camp, the one of the oldest settlements for Tibetan refugees.

Here, the refugees are engaged in producing hand-made carpets which is being sold in local market and also outside the state like Delhi and Bangalore.

"I am weaving carpet. It takes 15-16 days to complete one piece. We sell the products at the showroom. We also export carpets," said Basang, Weaver

"This is our outlet to sell the products. We also sell our products online and have an agency in Delhi and Bangalore. They buy our products," said Tenzin, In-charge, Choephelling Tibetan Handicraft Centre.

Many tourists visiting Arunachal Pradesh also visits the refugee camp to buy hand-made products.

The Tibetan refugee camp is inhabited by 500 families with 2800 members. This is one of the 45 Tibetan settlements in India.
