Union Minister of State (MoS) for Law and Justice P P Chaudhary on Wednesday suggested that as per changing laws and codes, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) should modify its courses.

Addressing the gathering at the ICSI Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan, Chaudhary said, "As per changing laws and codes like Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, the institute should modify its courses for professional competence."

However, the minister said he is happy to know that the institute is working on it.

He further suggested that the ICSI should get the ball rolling and create awareness about the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

"There is a need to bring transparency in corporate governance," he added.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is the only recognized professional body in India to develop and regulate the profession of Company Secretaries in India.

At the event, ICSI will also felicitate most distinguished and high profile 50 Members.
