Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu's Public Relation Officer (PRO) Neelam Dubey today sought to downplay the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order to demolish illegal encroachments at his hermitage in Delhi's Central Ridge area.

Dubey said the real order is yet to be known, as people have implemented and interpreted the verbal order in their own language.

"What has the NGT said, nobody has the real order, it will come by the evening. Everybody has implemented and interpreted the verbal order in their own language. The details we have heard say that firstly, 1,000 trees need to be planted near the ashram, which we are ready to do as we have already, planted few and are in process of planting a for few more," Dubey told ANI here.

"The only order which needs to be followed by us is to remove the pipe going out of the ashram that we were not aware of, but we will remove it. The NGT has not said anything which is very violent or could be made a big issue of," she added.

"The second order was that in 2003, it was decided by the Supreme Court that the constructions which took place before 2003 will remain, but if something has been constructed afterwards, that will be demolished. So, we didn't construct anything after that period. We have just planted few trees and done fencing which can be removed or replaced anytime. We haven't constructed anything in terms of placing bricks or cement," Dubey further pointed out.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) ordered the demolition of encroachments and illegal constructions by Asaram's hermitage in Delhi's Central Ridge area.

Accroding to reports, the police will carry out the demolition and submit a compliance report in eight weeks.

Dubey, however, said that if the hermitage had to be demolished then the Supreme Court would have given the orders in 2003 only.
