Asian girls are reportedly being targeted for sexual exploitation by Asian men in Rotherham.
Victim support groups say that along with white girls, reports of sexual grooming of Asian girls by groups of Asian men living in Rotherham, South Yorkshire have emerged.
According to the BBC, support workers believe that the Jay report, published in August between 1997 and 2013 on abused children in the town may have under-estimated the number because it was unlikely to include the experiences of Asian girls.
While the report estimated the figure to be at least 1,400, Yasmin Ishaq, who runs a voluntary organisation, said that it was not just the young white girls that they were targeting, adding the Pakistani girls were not going to be part and parcel of this report as they were too afraid to go to the law.
She revealed how a number of Asian girls were being blackmailed into having sex with different men while others were forced at knifepoint to perform sexual acts on men.
Ishaq said men who they knew to be abusers had never been prosecuted and were also systematically abusing young girls within their own network of family and friends, the report added.

Earlier, Professor Alexis Jay, a former senior social worker who authored the report into child sexual exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham since 1997, said the evidence handed over to police and social services was dismissed and suppressed.
Jay, who conducted an inquiry into the attacks that took place between 1997 and 2013 in South Yorkshire, said it was hard to describe the appalling nature of the abuse that child victims suffered.
She said the victims were raped by multiple perpetrators and trafficked to other towns and cities in the north of England apart from being kidnapped and getting beaten up.
