Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal has reportedly said that in any political settlement in Syria, "President Bashar al-Assad should be out of the picture" as he has no role in it.
In a speech at the United Nations 69th General Assembly in New York, Faisal termed the Syrian crisis the "greatest humanitarian tragedy of the century" and said that the longer the inner armed conflict continues, the greater the persistence of cruelty and increase in terrorism and extremism, reported Gulf News.
He added that Saudi Arabia fully supports the moderate Syrian opposition.
