The Assam police on Sunday confirmed that a bomb blast occurred inside one of the coaches of Kamakhya - Dekargaon Intercity Express train in Udalguri on Saturday.
"The explosion occurred in passenger train's 2nd general class coach at the Harisinga station and our probe has confirmed that it was a bomb blast," confirmed North East Frontier Railway Public Relation Officer, Nripen Bhattacharya.
At least 11 people were injured after an explosion took place inside one of the coaches of the Express train on Saturday.
After the incident, railway and police officials immediately rushed to the spot and the injured were admitted to the hospital.
Further investigations are underway.
