Not only Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard's attachment to the Assassin's Creed film has brought it into the limelight, but the news that it would be referring to the 'Blade Runner' and 'Batman Begins' has made it even more interesting.

In a recent interview, the CEO of Ubisoft, Jean-Julien Baronnet, said that Fassbender accepted very quickly and he was the only actor which they thought was obvious to fit in the role, reports the Independent.

He added that there was no script, no studio or anything and told Fassbender that they want to make a film with references to feature films like 'Batman Begins' and 'Blade Runner.'

The film that also stars Brendan Gleeson and Jeremy Irons is slated to release in December 2016.
