At least 7 die in stampede at Imran Khan's PTI political rally

At least seven people have died in a stampede in Pakistan at a political rally following a speech by opposition leader and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan.

According to the BBC, 40 people were injured in the incident that happened after Khan's speech in Multan.

Khan called for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation and accused him of rigging in last year's General Elections.

Sharif later expressed sorrow for the tragic incident that took place at the rally.

Sharif's supporters said that the demonstrations were instigated by Pakistan's army that stand against the PM and is trying to weaken his powerful position.
