At least three people are suspected to have been killed after a bridge collapsed near Peshawar.
The bridge had been built over the Bara River in Bazid Khel Village and it caved in on Thursday afternoon.
Frantic relatives tied to find the bodies, but were unsuccessful.
Distraught villagers then blocked the main road in protest.
The rescue operation only began on Friday morning after engineers of the Pakistan Army were roped in.
Angry villagers have asked the government to take action against the provincial irrigation department for its failure to maintain the bridge.
