Former Pakistan president general Pervez Musharraf has been exempted from appearing before an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), but ordered the police to produce the former military ruler's physician at the next hearing of the judges' detention case.

Sohail Ikram, ATC Judge, has summoned Musharraf's doctor Imtiaz Hashmi to appear before the court on March 25.

Public prosecutor Amir Nadeem Tabish argued before the court that the former president has been avoiding the court on medical grounds for over two years now, adding that

He even argued that Musharraf's counsel submits the same report at every hearing to justify the deliberate absence of the accused, following which, the court has summoned to doctor Hashmi to ascertain authenticity of the medical report.

The court has also directed the SHO Secretariat to procure the attendance of Hashmi at the next hearing.
