Spanish side Atletico Madrid has assured themselves of a top spot in their Champions League Group G and a place in the knockout phase when they won 4-0 at home to Austria Wien on Wednesday, which was their fourth consecutive victory.
The second-placed La Liga side was placed three up before halftime in the game with goals from Miranda, Raul Garcia and Filipe Luis, while leading scorer Diego Costa netted the fourth late on after missing a second-half penalty.
According to Sport24, the goalless Wien, which is struggling domestically, and is at the bottom of Group G, rarely threatened after a couple of chances early on.
The group's second-placed side Zenit St Petersburg were earlier held to a 1-1 draw at home to Porto to move on to five points, seven adrift of leaders Atletico and their perfect record with two games left to play, the report added.
