Atletico Madrid advanced to the semifinals of the Champions League after defeating title holders Barcelona 2-0 in the second leg match at the Vicente Calderon stadium to progress 3-2 on aggregate.
Antoine Griezmann was the star of the match as he put the hosts ahead on away goals with a fine first-half header before dispatching a clinical penalty two minutes from time, Sport24 reported.
This was Barca's third defeat in four games after maintaining a 39-match unbeaten run stretching back six months.
With the win, Atletico joined local rivals Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in Friday's semi-final draw.
