ANI Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India]

A Shiv Sena party worker attempted to throw ink at Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut in Lucknow on Tuesday. Chaos followed at the venue after the failed attempt.

The person has been identified as Suryanvan Vishwakarma.

A Shiv Sena activist said, "I am trying to find out what happened, we have to look into who it was who threw the ink."

Party members thrashed the person who attempted to throw ink, but the police intervened and arrested him.

Ink-related attacks on political leaders have become the norm of registering a protest of late. In recent times, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and Sudheendra Kulkarni, chairman of the Mumbai branch of the Observer Research Foundation, experienced ink-related attacks.
