Attempts being made to divide society, says Habib

After drawing flaks from several quarters for equating the RSS with the IS, noted historian Irfan Habib on Friday said there the society is not divide, but there is an attempt to divide it.

When asked whether he was being targeted for his remarks over the RSS, he said he could not comment on their intentions, as he did not know what did the RSS or its allies want.

Denying his son-in-law's relations with Moody, he said, "I have only one daughter, and my son-in-law Amit Mishra has no connection with Moody, he is a scientist at Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI).

 

When asked if Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take cognisance of the situation, he said he had no expectations from him.
