Australian pace bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile is all set to be sidelined for months after he was diagnosed with a serious back injury, according to Cricket Australia.
Earlier, the 28-year-old was forced to pull out of the ongoing five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka after he complained of a back pain, which was later found out to be a bone stress injury, Sport24 reported.
Confirming the news, physiotherapist David Beakley said that Coulter-Nile's scan had revealed a lumbar bone stress injury in his lower back and, therefore, he would now enter a lengthy rehabilitation period.
Earlier, the pacer had dislocated his right shoulder during a domestic Big Bash League Twenty20 match in December and suffered a left shoulder injury in the domestic one-day cup competition just two months before.
He was also sent home during Australia's tour of England in September last year after suffering a right hamstring injury.
