Australia comfortably defeated West Indies by nine wickets after having an incredible final session on the third day of the first test in Roseau, Dominica.
Australian batsman Adam Voges was adjudged Man of the Match for scoring his maiden century in the first innings.
Beginning the third day at 25-2, West Indies didn't start well as they lost Darren Bravo early. Shane Dowrich and Marlon Samuels though played with great composure and got together for a 144-run union, frustrating the Australian bowlers.
However, Dowrich's wicket opened the floodgates and West Indies lost their last 7 wickets for a paltry 35 runs, thus being bowled out at 216. Mitchell Starc was the pick off the bowlers as he picked up four wickets giving away just 28 runs in his18 overs.
Australia achieved the target of 47 in just five overs, losing the lone wicket of David Warner.
Jubilant with the victory, Michael Clarke said that it was a tough fight and the hosts played exceptionally well. He also said that it was great on part of his bowlers to take wickets on that slow track.
