An Australian court has reversed a government approval for Indian company Adani's giant coal mine in Queensland.
According to the BBC, the court had said that Australian Environment Minister Greg Hunt failed to pay heed to the advice regarding threats to vulnerable animal species.
The Carmichael coal mine, approved by the government last year, would have been one of the world's biggest coal mines.
Adani, which has struggled to get financial backing for the project, had also won earlier the approval to build a new coal port terminal on the Queensland coast to support exports from the mine.
The project would have aided in the export of about 60 million tonnes of coal a year, mostly to India.
