American heavy metal band 'Avenged Sevenfold' recently dropped its seventh studio album titled 'The Stage' which is Artificial-Intelligence themed.

Following a live-streamed virtual reality performance last night, the Orange County metal band officially unveiled 'The Stage', the follow-up to 2013's chart-topping 'Hail to the King', reports Rolling Stone.

The release of the album's eight-and-a-half-minute title track as a single also comes as the Californian band's most ambitious album to date.

Including a lengthy guitar solo, frontman M. Shadows sings, "Who is the crowd that peers through the cage as we perform here upon the stage?"

In the clip, a marionette theater labeled 'Professor Batz Fantastical History of the World' displays Egyptians torturing slaves, puritans burning witches, French revolutionaries beheading a king, Civil War soldiers slaughtering Native Americans and scenes of all-out war and more as an audience looks on.

Co-produced with American record engineer and producer Joe Barresi, 'The Stage' is a concept album about artificial intelligence, featuring the quartet's aggressive bonkers music.

The band's next track is rumored to be titled 'Voltaic Oceans' though the group has hinted at more details on October 27.
