An Australian aviation expert has claimed that the disappearance of AirAsia flight QZ8501 occurred after the pilot flew into a well known danger area over the Java

Sea and that whoever made the flight plan committed a fatal mistake.

Neil Hansford said that whether it was the Indonesian captain or the French first officer who planned the flight, he made a big mistake as veteran pilots avoided the area where the plane is believed to have crashed, reported the China Daily.

Hansford said that the area is known as the "thunderstorm factory" and pilots plan to "go around it" but never "through it".

He concluded by saying that it was the mistake of the pilot.

AirAsia plane QZ8501, flying from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore with 162 people on board, lost contact with air traffic control on Sunday.
