Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], Nov 14 (ANI): Security was beefed up at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here on Tuesday after the airport director received a hijack mail from an unknown email address.
The director received the message at 10:54 am yesterday.
Airport Authority of India staff, Immigration Department and Kolkata Police along with the aviation security were alerted following the threatening mail.
Security was beefed up at the airport and ATC was alerted to halt flight operations for a moment.
The Director received hijack mail from "purnadhara900@gmail.com" mail address after which necessary actions were taken.

Later, the aviation security found nothing specific, an airport official said.
Earlier a panic situation was reported at the Delhi airport after Afghan Airlines' pilot mistakenly pressed the hijack button on November 10.
