Azealia Banks has landed her first lead role in Lionsgate and Codeblack Films' upcoming feature film, 'Coco.'
The 23-year-old rapper, who made her debut last year with the album 'Broke With Expensive Taste', will be playing the title character in the drama, which will be helmed by Wu-Tang Clan's RZA, reported Deadline.com.
Set in Brooklyn, the film will focus on an aspiring twenty-something rapper, who wants a career in hip-hop but is torn by her parents' dreams that she finish college.
The movie, which was penned by Nicole Jefferson Asher and is being produced by Paul Hall, also stars Common, Jill Scott, Lucien Laviscount, Lorraine Toussaint and Hana Mae Lee.
