Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has urged Misbah-ul-Haq's world cup side to live up to their full potential and demonstrate more pride and commitment in the upcoming World Cup, which gets underway from February 14 in Australia and New Zealand.

Reflecting on Pakistan's recent performance against New Zealand, he said that four defeats in New Zealand obviously means that morale in the camp would be low as they head to Australia, Pak Passion reported.

However, Mahmood said that World Cup opener against India would be ideal opportunity to boost their morale, adding that defeating India in the opening match would erase the impact of four defeats against New Zealand, the report added.

Mahmood added that things wouldn't turn around on their own as the players need to lift their game and show more pride and commitment.

Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals India on February 15 in Adelaide.
