B-Town expressed their grief and anguish over yesterday's flyover collapse tragedy that took place in North Kolkata's Girish Park area.
Amitabh Bachchan took to his Blog to express his concern over this tragedy.
"A bridge has collapsed in Kolkata and many suffer .. our prayers go out for all .. may God be with them .. having spent a major part of the year in the city on work I feel I must have crossed this bridge often .. fate and time wait for no one .. tragedies do concern us and we hope always that the worst can be avoided .. but at times it just does not .Our prayers today for Kolkata ." posted Amitabh Bachchan on his blog.
Big- B even took to his twitter handle to say,"Bridge collapse in Kolkata ! Our hearts with those that suffer ! Sad and shocked ! Prayers !!"
He then tweeted the emergency contact numbers and other helpline numbers time and again for the victims.

"Just seeing the news about a bridge collapse in Kolkata. Heart goes out to the victim and the families. Hope more cranes can reach the site," tweeted Varun Dhawan.
"Instead of starting with the blame game on news channel people should only concentrate on the rescue operation now #Kolkata bridge collapse," read his other tweet.
"The real tragedy today is the attempt to label the #KolkataFlyOver collapse as an "act of God". Zero accountability or value for human life," wrote Ranveer Shorey.
"Very saddened by the #KolkataFlyover mishap. Hope that this makes us more accountable. This is unacceptable," tweeted Dia Mirza.
"My heart goes out to all the victims & sufferers of the #flyovercollapse tragedy #kolkata - really shocking incident," wrote 'Piku' music composer Anupam Roy.
"Talk about sheer shamelessness! The contractor MUST be legally liable for his work! #Kolkata," tweeted Vishal Dadlani.
"My prayers are with those trapped under the collapse of the #kolkata flyover today; may the rescue operations be fast and efficient," read Soha Ali Khan's Twitter handle.
"This is terrible ! My prayers go out to each and everyone affected by this tragedy. #Kolkata #Prayers," wrote Aishwaryaa R. Dhanush.
The death toll has risen to 23 till now.
However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had last evening confirmed that 21 had died and 85 others injured in the mishap.
The rescue work has been going on war footing. The military and NDRF teams are using heavy earth movers and gas cutting paraphernalia to complete the operation as soon as possible but several more hours will be needed to clear the debris.
The state government has announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs. five lakh to next of kin of the victims and Rs. two lakh to gravely injured people.
