The oldest litigant in the Babri Masjid Ram Janm Bhumi dispute, Hashim Ansari, who has been fighting the case for the past 65 years, on Wednesday stated that he is not interested in fighting the case anymore.
Ansari's statement came two days ahead of the 22nd anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.
He also expressed discontent over the politicization of the issue and said that he will not take part in the protest to mark the demolition of the structure. According to reports, he also said that he wants to see Ram Lalla free as it gives him a pain when he sees it in a tent.
Lashing out at Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan, Ansari added, "I want to tell Azam Khan that he should not open his mouth against me, I will be very thankful of him. The action committee was formed for Babri Masjid, not for Mulayam. He was made the convener but did he ever go to High Court or Supreme Court. I want a decision regarding Babri Masjid."
Meanwhile in Lucknow, Azam Khan said that one person's statement doesn't make any difference.
"One person's statement doesn't make any difference. It's just sadness and frustration. I don't know if someone instigated him or he is sad but the statement is unfortunate. We should follow law and order. There should be an investigation regarding the allegations," said Khan.
