Australian cricketer George Bailey has said that he is ready for Test cricket after his blistering form in the just-completed one-day tour of India.
According to News.com.au, filling in as captain for the injured Michael Clarke, Bailey presided over a 3-2 series loss, but he is on course for a Test baptism after amassing 478 runs against the Indians at 95.60.
Having dominated at one-day level, Bailey will now turn out for Tasmania against Queensland in their Sheffield Shield showdown starting Wednesday to further impress Test selectors, the report said.
Bailey said that he certainly feels like he is ready and that he is at an age where one probably gets only one shot at Test cricket.
He jetted into Brisbane on Monday morning in the box seat to win a batting berth for the first Test against England, the report added.
