Political parties in Balochistan, which are in favour of secession from Islamabad, declared Pakistan's Independence Day as a 'Black Day' on Thursday, according to reports.
Baloch populated areas boycotted the Independence Day of Pakistan and decided to observe August 14 as a Black Day by hoisting black flags on their houses and tying black armbands, reported the Balochwarna News.
Sources state that attacks were carried out against Pakistani forces in the early hours of the day, for which the Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility.
Several Baloch resistance organisations are reportedly waging an armed struggle against what they called 'occupying Pakistani forces' in Balochistan and have vowed to continue their resistance until there is an unconditional withdrawal of Pakistan forces from their territory.
The Balochis have been reportedly observing August 14 as a Black Day since the illegal occupation of sovereign state of Balochistan by Pakistan in 1948.
