The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon strongly condemned the attack on Ashura processions and Imambargahs in Pakistan and extended his condolences to victims' families.

The Secretary General urged the Pakistan government to take all essential measures to bring the perpetrators of the attacks to justice, The Express Tribune reported.

The government should also protect all its citizens including its minorities, he added.

"Nothing justifies terrorism," Ban Ki-Moon said in a statement while referring to the attacks.

At least 10 people on Thursday were killed and 13 others injured in a suicide bomber attacked an Imambargah in the Kachhi district of Balochistan.

In another incident on Friday at least 22 people were killed and 40 others injured in a deadly suicide blast through a Muharram procession in Lashari Muhalla in Jacobabad in Pakistan.

Banned Sectarian outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LeJ) claimed responsibility for the attacks.
