Bangabahadur, the Indian elephant washed up in Bangladesh, dies

Bangabahadur, the stranded wild elephant whose journey from India to Bangladesh was recorded in a detailed manner, died this morning in Bangladesh's Sarishabari, Jamalpur.

Assistant veterinary surgeon of Bangabandhu Safari Park, Cox's Bazar, Mustafizur Rahman, said that Bangabahadur suffered a heart attack and breathed her last at Koyra village in Sharishabari upazila around 6:30 a.m., the Dailystar.net reported.

As per reports, the giant elephant was scheduled to shift to the Gazipur Safari Park.

On June 27, the elephant was swept by floodwater along the Brahmaputra river from Assam into Kurigram district through Roumari border.
