Graphene Healthcare, a company headquartered in Singapore, has recently been recognized as the Best Startup in Singapore by Seedstars World. Seedstars World is a part of the Swiss group Seedstars, and runs the world's biggest startup competition covering 65+ emerging and developing markets.
The Bangalore based Beahead team - a sister concern of Graphene Singapore - is the dedicated arm of Graphene Singapore. This team has helped to develop a remote healthcare platform - Coronis - which uses smart devices and next-generation predictive analytics to improve access to healthcare and manage patient care for rural communities. Working in partnership with the Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology (Bangalore), this platform has been deployed to power up their rural health camps and mobile eye clinic - Nayana, a project funded by the World Diabetes Foundation. Since April 2016, the platform has seen around 785 patient registrations and has already saved more than 100 diabetes patients from blindness.
This low-cost, financially sustainable and easily scalable platform, which Graphene plans to expand globally, was showcased during the recently held Seedstars World Competition in Singapore and was adjudged the Best Startup for its high impact. The Bangalore based team also enables Graphene's pharma arm to deliver cutting edge scenario planning and analytics solutions to some of the largest pharma companies in the world.
As a Seedstars World winner, Graphene will be participating in a Regional workshop to be held in Bangkok in December, 2016. The company is now part of a select group of top 60 start-ups globally, who will participate in a special event in Switzerland - where members from Graphene's Singapore and India team will have the exclusive opportunity to meet with global investors and venture capital firms, while also getting an opportunity to facilitate cutting-edge strategic technology partnerships.
