Bangkok blast: Arrested man 'part of people-smuggling gang'

Authorities said that the man is not cooperating with the police

Thai authorities have said that the man arrested in connection to the Bangkok blast is part of a people-smuggling gang.

According to ABC News, the 28-year-old man was detained on charges of possessing illegal explosives.

Investigators said that the man was found with multiple passports and bomb-making equipment during a raid at a flat in Bangkok's eastern suburbs.
 

Authorities said that the man is not cooperating with the police.

Police have not revealed the identity or nationality of the man but an Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) spokesman said the man is a Turkish national.
