Bangladesh PM Hasina calls on Pope Francis

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a courtesy call on Pope Francis at Vatican Embassy on Friday and exchanged greetings, followed by their 20-minute private conversation.

According to Dhaka Tribune, Prime Minister introduced her younger sister Sheikh Rehana to Pope Francis after the meeting.

Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq and his wife Peppe Siddiq were also present during the meet with Pope Francis.

Earlier, Pope Francis, who is on a three-day visit to Bangladesh, celebrated a Holy Mass, a prayer service on Friday at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka.

The Holy Mass was attended by more than 80,000 people from around the country.

He is the first pope to visit Bangladesh in 31 years.
