The World Cup group stage tie between Australia and Bangladesh has been abandoned due to persistent rainfall at the Gabba in Brisbane, with both teams earning one point each.
Officials called off the game in view of incessant rainfall, and curator Kevin Mitchell seeing no prospect of preparing the ground in suitable condition for play, News.com.au reported.
Bangladesh now stands a better chance to qualify for the quarter-finals, if they could manage to pull off one upset win.
While Australia will next face co-hosts New Zealand in Auckland next Saturday, Bangladesh will meet Sri Lanka on Thursday.
