The President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, will be paying a six-day official visit to India beginning tomorrow at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee.
President Mukherjee had invited him to visit India and also to be a guest in Rashtrapati Bhawan.
The Bangladeshi President will during his visit meet President Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders.
He is scheduled to visit places of historical and cultural importance both in and outside Delhi. This visit will be the first visit by a ceremonial Head of State of Bangladesh since 1972.
The President of India had paid a state visit to Bangladesh in March 2013.
The Bangladeshi President's visit will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the close bilateral relations between the two countries.
