At least 41 Bangladeshi victims, who were trafficked into Thailand by sea, have returned to their homeland on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
Among those returning, 13 are from Cox's Bazar, six from Jhenaidah, five each from Narsingdi and Sirajganj, four from Satkhira, three from Magura, two each from Jessore and Bandarban, and one from Faridpur district, reported The Daily Star.
In keeping with the commitment made by Bangladesh at the May 29 Bangkok meeting, the repatriation of the 41 trafficking victims is being fully sponsored by the government. This includes airfare, transportation from Suan Plu Immigration Detention Centre, Bangkok to Suvarnabhumi Airport and other expenses.
