Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said that star striker Lionel Messi is happy at the club and will stay until at least the end of his contract in 2018, thus putting an end to speculation surrounding the Argentine's future at the club.
Earlier in the week, it was alleged that Barcelona striker was unhappy under coach Luis Enrique and considering a move to English Premier League side Chelsea.
In response, Bartomeu said that Messi has a contract until 2018 adding that he is happy with the club and wants to win more titles, the BBC reported.
According to him, there was nothing to panic about in that regard as Messi was the central figure and the team was built around him.
Messi started on the bench as Barcelona lost to Real Sociedad at the weekend, leaving the team a point behind arch-rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga table.
