Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo set a new La Liga record on Saturday for time spent on the pitch without conceding.

Barcelona are known for scoring truckloads of goals but the Catalan side was celebrating their miserliness on Saturday as Bravo has now played 630 minutes from the start of the season without letting in a goal.

The Chilean international, who signed from Real Sociedad in the summer, broke the old mark of 560 minutes set by former Barca gloveman Pedro Artola at the beginning of the 1977-78 season, CNN reported.

Bravo passed Artola's record in the 21st minute of Barca's match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. The Chilean said that everybody was talking about the record before the game, but added that he wasn't really thinking about the minutes.

Bravo said that he was thinking more about the game and trying to be calm and concentrate, adding that he just wanted to keep a clean sheet.

It was Luis Enrique's side's seventh clean sheet in a row as Lionel Messi and Neymar scored at the other end to seal a 2-0 win against nine-man Rayo at the Estadio de Vallecas, the report added.
